Since our company’s formation in 1992, BIOGENIE UK Remediation Limited has always led the way in the remediation of contaminated sites and materials market. We have the longest track record of fully guaranteed, warranted, insured and licensed project delivery within the UK.

As a leader in soil treatment and materials management, we established the first UK soil treatment facility (STF) in 2005.

Since then, we have become the operator of the largest number of soil treatment facilities in the UK, currently operating three in England and one in South Wales. Through this network of treatment facilities, a joint venture with Biffa Waste Services, we provide national coverage for sustainable, fully compliant, and crucially landfill-tax-free offsite treatment of a wide range of contaminated wastes.

Looking back over 33 years from our humble beginnings as a small family-oriented business, we have grown into much more than a Company.

Having been sold and owned by private equity for many years, we have come full circle. We are now owned by a leading global family business specialising in environmental, engineering, and works services.

Now part of the worldwide ORTEC Group, we offer financial stability and one of the largest dedicated teams of onsite remediation and enabling work experts supported by our network of offsite soil treatment facilities.

ORTEC Group operates in 28 countries across 4 continents. Bolstered by its in-depth knowledge of local contexts and the industrial sector’s specific demands, we are currently turning over €1.4bn and employing over 6,000 people.
