Celtic win National Grid Property Award

Celtic, in conjunction with Brown and Mason, Coleman’s, JBP and Worley Parsons won the most considerate land regeneration project at the recent National Grid Property Awards.

The award was for efforts to dewater Gasholders across 5 sites in the South East of England. The project included recovery, treatment and discharge under consent of over 70,000m3 of waters from Gasholders utilising innovative, mobile, remote controlled technologies.

The works were an integral part of the overall gasholder demolition programme and ensured the main objectives of National Grid were met.

Dr. Joe Teer, Celtic-EnGlobe’s Managing Director said:

“This was a time critical project where innovation was needed to keep overall costs to a minimum, yet have a system that provided confidence in meeting the project objectives. Innovation was not only provided in the design of the systems, tailored to the access restricted sites, but also in the way the management and attendance of the 5 sites, operated simultaneously to meet the programme, was undertaken. The project team did a fantastic job on this very demanding project and once again demonstrate the wealth of experience that Celtic can bring to bear on former gasworks sites. This project provides us with a platform for future opportunities in the nationwide gasholder demolition projects.”
